Day Spa and Salon Equipment Leasing?

I am needing to lease equipment for a day spa and salon, but most of the ones I’ve seen on the web indicate you already need to be in business. I want to know that I can secure financing for this BEFORE I sign the lease. If anyone knows where this can be accomplished, please let me know as I want to get moving on this.

If you’ve never been in business before, I would strongly recommend that you talk to a business counselor before you do anything especially spend money. I’d call the local office of SCORE (go to http://www.score.org and input your zip code to find the chapter nearest you), the advice is FREE.

The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting a day spa and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers you’ll concentrate on (your market ) and how you’ll go after them.

Leasing versus buying equipment for baking?

I'm starting a small bakery and I wonder if the lease or purchase would be my best option. I would like to lease in case the business goes bad, I think. Anyone have good connections (I personally have had experience with) for the lease bakery equipment such as a convection oven, cabinet, refrigerator and a mixer?

Foreclosure what can I remove from the house?

My mom is losing her house due to foreclosure. My dad rebuilt the house and after he passed away mom just can’t keep the payments up. i am wanting to take out the kitchen cabinets and possibly the carpet.because it is really nice stuff that my dad worked hard for. She plans on filing bankruptcy after the house is foreclosed on. Am I allowed to do this? I am not going to “trash” the house in any way I would just like to put some of the stuff from the house I grew up in into my house. Also she hasn’t been able to come up with the money for her property taxes is it true that the mortgage company will pay these taxes in the foreclosure? The sheriffs sale would happen before the foreclosure auction. Thank you for any help!

I've had it! Noise canceling headphones?

My office is too hard to do anything and I can not take it anymore. ipod headphones do not cut more. Silence is too much to ask? I read the CNet reviews on noise canceling headphones, but I want the real world views. Does the use of cancellation headphone noise anyone? How well do they work every day? Silence is golden. Thanks for the suggestions. Is not 10db the sound of a pin drop? How do i actually change the password of a LOG IN screen on EXCEL 2007 spreadsheet databases?

Thanks for the answers on the previous question, but i dont think people understood me.
There is a log on screen when i open a spreadsheet on EXCEL 2007, its a business database spreadsheet. the log on screen appears, and i know the username and password, but i want to CHANGE it.

The instructions below “Quote From Help” are a copy and paste Excel Help. I have tested them and they work.

If there is a password when you try to set a new one you just type over it and repeat the new password when required.

You must complete the save (if you aren’t asked if you want to replace the existing file, you are saving in another directory and the original file will not be affected.)

And you must close the file without saving it again to avoid replacing the new password with the old one.

In addition to setting a password to open an Excel spreadsheet, you can set a password to allow others to modify the spreadsheet.

Click the Microsoft Office Button , click Save As, and on the bottom of the Save As dialog, click Tools.

Under File sharing, in the Password to modify box, type a password.
In the Confirm Password dialog, re-type the password. Click OK.
Click Save.
Note To remove the password, repeat these instruction and then delete the password from the Password to modify box. Click Save.

I want to use uppers for the top and use a couple lower base cabinets with a countertop over them. I am curious if the base cabinet will work for using one of the drawers as a filing cabinet. Or do you have any other suggestions for something that might work? I want to buy something that is pre-made (i.e. the premade cabinets) but I dont want to just use a regular filing cabinet as I want it to look custom without really being custom made.

One can easily design/create their own KITCHEN ISLAND CENTERS with base kitchen cabinets but FYI they don’t have the same internal dimensions as office filing cabinets so they will not work as well as a filing cabinet drawer(s) that is/are specially designed to hold the hanging file folders or to put a metal device inside to hang the folders from.

Best bet if I were in your shoes would recommend visiting the nearest IKEA store bec a lot of their furniture designs crossover in both kitchen and office/home styling….

Why is it so hard to get financed for a service business?

The bank told me to make a business plan, so I did. They didnt even look at my credit till after they had my business plan. So after all the hard work they tell me NO, my credit isnt good enough. Why couldnt they tell me that before I spent money on business plan. The only overhead is the equipment. I showed them that if they gave me the loan I would be making a proffit of almost 90,000 dollars. whats wrong with that?

I know how aggravating it is, trust me.

The problem is that you have no equity. There’s nothing they can seize if you default on the loan.

If you own a home, you can use it as collateral (if your credit is good enough and you have some equity in the home) but that’s about it.

I have a 12-year-old business that’s been profitable the entire time. The bank won’t even give me a line of credit worth 1/2 my monthly billing.

I am opening an office supply store, but I had a lot of problems finding suppliers / wholesalers. I've worked in shops where I realized that buyers always had tons of catalogs with the products from where he was ordained merchandise to its stores. Where I can get the catalogs? Any links or suggestions of resources (which need not be online), especially experience retail buyers, would be greatly appreciated. Google seems like a good place to start, however, 99% of what is available in the search engines is lower no more.
